Adding ArticlesTo add an article, just login, then click the link in the user menu that says 'submit an article'. Write in whatever you want, scroll down on the page until you see the drop down menus for section and category, then select the appropriate ones. Make sure 'yes' is clicked for the published option, and if you want it on the home page as well click the radio button for 'show on front page'. Scroll back up, hit save, and your content will appear on the site. If you want your content to be visible only to registered members, you can set the access level. Registered means only site members can view the article. Special means only those with moderator privileges can view the article. You can also set the article to be taken off the site on a certain date, or set it so that it isn't visible until a certain date using the 'Start Publishing' and 'Finish Publishing' options. Only those with publisher level privileges will have their content appear automatically. Articles written by members at the author level must be approved by a publisher before they can be viewed on the site. A typical registered member cannot write an article, author privileges must be awarded by an administrator. How do I add a podcast? The Podcast Suite is a set of extensions designed to work with Joomla's core content management component. All podcast episodes are entered into standard Joomla! articles using a tag in the format of {enclose filenamehere.mp3}. The frontend of the component searches for these tags in published articles and adds them to your podcast feed. The plugin turns the tags into links (by default) or MP3 players so that site visitors can preview your podcast before subscribing. (You can use your favorite brower-based MP3 player through the Custom HTML feature if you wish.) The module provides a link to your podcast: both the feed itself and a handy iTunes subscribe link. What to expect
Podcasts can be uploaded to the article just like an image. Click the image button just below the textbox to upload. Why can't I upload an image?Only certain members have image upload privileges, and these privileges are set by category. Please make sure you are uploading your picture to the correct gallery. If you believe you should be allowed to upload a picture, contact an administrator for assistance. |
